ABOUT GARY
A little about my work and what I've learned along the way.
I've spent more than twenty-five years in technology, first building software and later working with teams and organizations to help people do their best work together.
I started my technology career in project management in 1998 and moved into software development a few years later. I spent much of my career as a developer and technical lead before my work gradually shifted toward helping teams and the people around them work more effectively.
Along the way, I became fascinated by why some teams accomplish exceptional things while others don't. My experience has taught me that building exceptional teams is rarely just a technical challenge. It's also about creating an atmosphere where people trust one another, communicate clearly, take ownership, and are motivated to do meaningful work together.
Today, I continue working with technical professionals across multiple teams while writing and sharing some of the ideas I've found most useful throughout my career.
